With a flourish, the elderly gentleman opened the gate to Gecko Lounge as we arrived. We stepped inside. To the right, the children's play area bustled with kids climbing and playing. To the left, the outdoor dining space offered tables shaded by large umbrellas. Smiling servers greeted us and led us to the only available table—we’d lucked out! Our server appeared quickly to take our drink order, which arrived promptly, perfectly chilled, just as we liked it. His recommendations were excellent. The food was delicious, grilled to perfection. I chose the spareribs and calamari, with fries and golden onion rings, while my wife opted for the perfectly grilled Cordon Bleu, smothered in a cheesy sauce. What a feast! We had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. The air buzzed with laughter as parents enjoyed themselves, while their children made friends and played. I was grateful that they didn't know I was a local celebrity—I knew the forced smiles and service that would bring. I highly recommend Gecko Lounge for an intimate, romantic dinner, and for parents who want to socialize while safely keeping an eye on their children. Honestly, it was a magical evening. Thanks, Gushan (I hope that's the spelling!), our server, and everyone else who looked after us with genuine smiles. See you soon.

Gecko Lounge understands a fundamental of the food and beverage industry: tired, hungry people want consistency, hospitality, and quality cuisine. On several occasions Gecko's have succeeded in providing exactly what their menu promises. Their sushi is fresh and well prepared; the pasta is fresh and garlicky, and their desserts are well presented. The staff are friendly and well informed of the menu options. I've never actually ordered my own meal, because the servers' recommendations have always been on point! I am blessed and grateful to have discovered this gem of Wellington central.

Beautiful place to be & relax after work. Excellent specials. Burger on Wednesdays only R69 and double brandy & coke on special this week for only R25. Excellent menu and great staff. Thank you Jasmine for you service and kindness. We are clients for years and will definitely (DV) be back. * Great place for dining alone.
